Pro Version 6.0
Overview BrainBox Explained. BrainBox integrates our own free software with a range of free software tools programmed by others, to create a suite of tools to help you learn more quickly, think more insightfully and communicate more eloquently. In short, BrainBox is an ambitious, on-going, project designed to give you a range of computer-based tools to help you accelerate your learning, think in a more creative and focused way, and explain your ideas to others with greater clarity. So what can BrainBox do?... BrainBox Pro is like a swiss-army knife for the mind. It includes: - Electronic tools for speed reading, in the guise of ReadFast - A scribble pad, called Graffiti Lite, suitable for Tablet PC or interactive whiteboard with... - A well featured flowcharting program, called MapEdit - Plus, a straightforward Gannt chart editor, called GanntNow. ...And there's more... In support of these four main applications, you will find FreeThought and WriteNow, which contain editable rich text format templates related to creative thinking techniques and writer's templates, along with wizards and notes to help you select those templates that will be of most use to you. Simply select what you want, click a button and all the templates you want will be loaded into either MS Word or the free word processor from OpenOffice.org. Then, after authoring a text, you might want to use Orator, which can read aloud to you from MS Word or OpenOffice, using the free Microsoft text-to-speech software built into Windows. In short, Orator helps with proof reading, from any Windows text-based application. Moving along there is LibraryDesk which can be used to access all our eBooks, and which makes downloading these texts a simple drag-and-drop operation. It is worth pointing out here that our catalogue of free eBooks contains almost half a million words worth of illustrated texts and exercises, all with a focus on Accelerated Learning and associated Mind Technologies, from: - Traditional theories in Psychology to Neuro-Linguistic Programming - From DeBono DATT to Scenario Planning - From Knowledge Representation to Design Human Engineering - From Mozart Effect to Hemi-Synch - From Computer Aided Learning to Web-Based Learning - From Flow Diagrams to Soft Systems - From Expert Systems to Neural Nets - From Formal Logic to Fuzzy Logic, and - From Production Rules to Genetic Algorithms. Thus, LibraryDesk is a useful facility if your interests lay in any of these areas. Moving along... BrainBox provides you with all manner of low level tools. You have access to a 185,000 word dictionary-thesaurus and a number of file utilities, such as backup, encryption, shredding, password keeper, and simple picture capture and bitmap editing. Finally, if that were not enough... You will also have access to a number of useful applets: - An autocue module called FastText - A personal dictaphone, called SpeakEasy - Links to powerful speech analysis tools, in a module referred to as VoiceCoach. - Lastly, there is RecordPerformance, with which you can video practise presentations, via your web cam. - And SnapStream for NLP/DHE practitioners, who want an easy way to record their observations of other people's non verbal cues And like we have said before...it's all free... The design, implementation and distribution of BrainBox Pro is currently paid for by various grants and donations, along with some modest sponsorship. So... If you are keen to tune up the power of your mind, then you will find something of interest in our work, and plenty to make you curious, along with web-links to help you find out more. Options
Help us by giving a few minutes of your time... We want to continue to make BrainBox available for free. Thus, if you download BrainBox and find it useful over the coming weeks, months and years, a few minutes of your time sending us feedback can help us secure ongoing sponsorship and research grants. Positive comments by students and professionals are particularly helpful in our applications for future grants and sponsorship, especially if you do not mind being cited on our web site and/or in official applications. In particular, feedback from: Trainers, Consultants, Facilitators, Entrepreneurs and CEOs helps us approach commercial companies, whilst feedback from faculty staff in academia and civil servants helps us with applications for government research monies. Depending on your profession, the following are the kinds of questions you might like to use to direct your comments to us: - What has BrainBox enabled you to do? - How have profits increased? - How have costs diminished? - What new student activities does BrainBox enable you to undertake? - How has BrainBox made your work easier? - How has BrainBox (and the associated LibraryDesk books) contributed to your professional development? - What great ideas emerged from using BrainBox? For example... One guy told us that just having BrainBox installed made him think about using creative thinking techniques that he otherwise tended to forget about. One day, he looked at the BrainBox icon, started using a technique (not even starting to use the software), and realised a way he could save his company several hundreds of pounds. Another user told us how he makes use of Orator to proof read all his training materials. A third was mainly interested in the MapEdit software for concept mapping as a way to plan reports for his Masters Degree in Psychology. While a fourth thanked us for our eBook on Artificial Intelligence, which helped him through a Maters Degree in Artificial Life Technologies. And we have had many mails over the years from dyslexics who have found that various tools in BrainBox have made it easier for them to study. In short, a few paragraphs detailing the way you have found our work useful, from even a few tens of individuals on a yearly basis helps us to demonstrate to potential sponsors the ongoing worth of our work. Thus, your feedback can and will help us continue our work into the future. To email us, click here... |
