Lots of people have downloaded our software, but only a couple have asked us any questions. We trust that this is because the software is pretty self-explanatory. If you have a question you would like answered click here and we will do our best to send a personalised answer to you - and upload your question and the answer to this site.

1. Is it possible to use Chinese/Japanese fonts within MarkThis Pro?

Unfortunately, for technical reasons, we had to specify that only two or three fonts be used within MarkThis. For maximum compatibility, around the world, we made these fonts Arial, Times New Roman and Comic Sans.

2. Is it possible to speed the loading of files?

In order to create MarkThis Pro and make it freely available we had to use an authoring language called ToolBook. This allows applications to be created fairly quickly, but does have the disadvantage that it is a little slow off the mark when starting up and when loading large files.

3. I sometimes need to double-check marks against paper lists. Is it possible to use MarkThis in conjunction with Microsoft Text-To-Speech technology?

Text-To-Speech is not built into MarkThis, however, if you install our free BrainBox software, there is a module called Orator. MarkThis will happily send lists of students and marks to Orator for you. (Someone also suggested that you could paste results into Excel and have the Excel text-to-speech facility read your results to you, though we have not yet tried this for ourselves).
